The company missed earnings estimates in its latest financials, which has affected its stock price in the market.  In detail, the company reported first-quarter 2021 net revenue of $12.6 million up to $4.2 million from Q1 2020. The company saw a gross loss of $3.0 million in the first quarter with an adjusted EBITDA loss of $37.1 million in Q1 2021.

Cronos announced it purchased options to acquire a 10.5% stake in PharmaCann for $110.4 million.  The deal will be executed under various factors including the status of US federal cannabis legalization. In particular, the deal would involve PharmaCann’s six production facilities and 23 dispensary locations. With this announcement CRON stock has begun to see some market momentum. Sundial Growers Inc.

One reason Sundial Growers makes this list is that in the first quarter of 2021 the company surprised investors with its first positive earnings report.  As it stands, the company saw first quarter 2021 earnings of C$1.7 million compared to a loss of C$32.7 million sequentially. In addition, the company reported a first-quarter positive adjusted EBITDA of C$3.3 million compared to a loss of C$5.6 million sequentially.
