With the marijuana movement making an influential impact over the last 2 decades the question remains,”When will all other States join in to legalize marijuana nation wide?”

From the most recent Gallup poll that took place in 2014, a margin of 51% to  47% respondents favored legalizing cannabis throughout the nation. If you were to speak of legalzing cannabis soley for medical purposes without involving recretional use, the call for legalization is even higher. A study that was conducted in 2013 showed that 77% of people believed cannabis provides a legitimate source of medical  value in contrast to the 16% who denied the medical value cannabis offers and 7% who did not have enough information to answer confidently.

So, will marijuana ever be legalized throughout the nation? The answer isn’t so simple.

The bigger picture for legalizing marijuana both recreationally and for medical use still remains a bit clouded.  With a recent poll that was conducted by Selzer & Co., on behalf of Bloomberg the question was asked to more than 1,000 Americans when they believed cannabis would be legal all across America both medical and recreational.

There were two results that were particularly striking. First,  about one-third  of the individuals who polled are under the impression cannabis will never be fully legalized across all 50 States. Taking into consideration these individuals were given the option of choosing “more than 20 years from now,” which was used as a reminder that some  State government leaders and constituents plainly wil not ever be in favor of legalizing marijuana.

Secondly, only 19%  are under the impression that within the next 5 years marijuana will see full legaliztion in all 50 States while 26% believe it will be 6 to 10 years from now. With an additional 18% of folks who believe cannabis is more than a decade away before becoming legal throughout the nation.

Though the battle to legalize marijuana has made tremendous strides over the past 2 decades the fight is far from over as many supporters and advocates continue their efforts in the fight of legalzing cannabis both medically and recreationally.
