Medical Marijuana Invades Puerto Rico

In recent news the governor of Puerto Rico has signed his name to a document that will allow cannabis to be permitted for medical purposes. Governor Alejandro Garcia Padilla supports the change that will be placed into immediate action after the public discussion on the US Territory.

Governor Alejandro Garcia Padilla announced that Puerto Rico’s health secretary will have three months to file the proper paper about in reference to how the executive order will be achieved. The order will also indicate that some or all controlled substances that stem from the marijuana plant will be allowed for medicinal reasons.

“We’re taking a significant step in the area of health that is fundamental to our development and quality of life,” Garcia stated, cited by AP. “I am sure that many patients will receive appropriate treatment that will offer them new hope.”
