Marijuana-Stocks-brain weed

Evidently, there are some advantages to gain from medical marijuana. However, there are also some disadvantages that come with the drug that should be thought of. For instance, cannabis can turn the cognitive decline around so long as there are no toxic pesticides infused. One of the newest and shocking findings of cannabis is its ability to act as antioxidants in the brain. German experts have discovered that the brain’s cannabinoid system have the ability to revive damaged brain cells while still producing new ones. Cannabinoids may be able to stop the effects of Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s disease and other diseases.

The news was announced in the journal Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society B. The scientists found that natural cannabis, which is marijuana with no pesticides, can stop brain inflammation that leads to a plethora of diseases including Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease and more.

“I’ve been trying to find a drug that will reduce brain inflammation and restore cognitive function in rats for over 25 years; cannabinoids are the first and only class of drugs that have ever been effective,” Gary Wenk, a professor of neuroscience, immunology and medical genetics at Ohio State University (OSU), who worked on the study, said. “I think that the perception about this drug is changing and in the future people will be less fearful.”

Not all states have allowed cannabis to be used recreationally. Similar to users who buy cannabis illegally and cannot be sure whether their cannabis has been laced with drugs, users who buy marijuana legally can not be sure that their drug has been infused with pesticides. The general agreement among those who take part in the legal marijuana industry is that there has not been enough experimentation to determine which chemicals are best to cultivate, smoke, or consume cannabis with.

“We have an industry that’s been illegal for so many years that there’s no research,”  Frank Conrad, the director of the marijuana testing laboratory Colorado Green Lab, said. “There’s no guidelines. There’s nothing.”
