There are many reasons why people love warehouse stores. First of all, you can find just about anything. Secondly, whatever it is you’re looking for, you can buy it in bulk. At your normal grocery store, you will typically be buying two or even just one cereal box. However, if you were to go to a warehouse store looking for cereal, you will walk out with a twelve-pack (or something similar) that will last you months. The benefit of this is not only that you will not need to make another trip to the grocery store for a long time, but also that in the long-term, this is typically cost efficient.
“By shopping at a warehouse club, we cut our bill by 61%,” said a local family after switching from their shopping center to a warehouse outlet.
Unfortunately, though, there is one thing that you can’t find at a warehouse store: marijuana; not yet at least. The stance the people of the United States has on marijuana has changed significantly; the polls show it. More people are voting to legalize it, supporting it, and even using it. Needless to say that this has been amazing for the economy. We are in the green rush, and this is something that entrepreneurs aren’t missing out on. That is why it would not be a surprise to see warehouse stores begin selling pounds of marijuana all at once. The reason why they have not is because of legal issues.
Cannabis is still illegal under the federal government, despite the fact that states have already decided to legalize the drug. There are many companies who wish to avoid the grey-area and stay on the safe side. But many expect this to change soon. The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) currently classifies marijuana as a Schedule I drug, which means that it is considered among the most dangerous in the world. Obviously, this is ridiculous when drugs like cocaine are considered less dangerous. For that reason, the DEA has been considering rescheduling the drug and will likely do so very soon. When that happens, we can finally expect to head into a warehouse store empty-handed and walk out with pounds of weed.
