When working in the marijuana industry there are quite a few obstacles that need to be hurdled. Bio-Tech Medical Software Inc. has been contracted by two states, it conducts business in 18 sates & abroad, and it recently sealed a $5 million series A round of funding.

However the company encounters issues with facing any business that currently works in the cannabis industry, even if it’s not directly working with the plants.“One of our greatest desires is to be seen as legitimate,” stated Patrick Vo, co-CEO of the company. “To not be seen as barely legalized drug dealers, but to be seen as legitimate business people.”

BioTrackTHC which is a system created by Bio-Tech Medical Software, tracks the plant as well as the sales that are conducted.  Additionally, the system tracks employees working hands on with the products as well as buying trends. This particular setup is used by recreational and medical marijuana shops, state governments, and growers. It first tags and labels the marijuana plants with a number and as each section of the plant is utilized, it takes on its own related serial number.

“Every single fraction of a gram of the cannabis plant needs to be tracked,” stated Vo.

Bio-Tech Medical was created by Co-CEO and founder Steven Siegel as a tracking method for prescription pharmaceuticals.
