Since the beginning of its inception, Las Vegas has been the heart of getting and doing whatever you want. Now, the city has approved legislation to get a 24/7 cannabis dispensary

The councilwoman for the district, Lois Tarkanian stated that she was asking dispensary owners why adding a few hours to their schedule would make a large difference.

The CEO of Oasis Cannabis, Benjamin Sillitoe gave a similar statement and said that “we have people lined up at our door at 6 a.m. and we are rushing people out at 3 a.m..

The communications manager for Oasis stated that Vegas locals usually work very late given the nature of the various industries there. The manager Kama Star, stated that the people wanting marijuana “from the casinos, taxi drivers, exotic dancers, lots of areas. And who doesn’t need something to relax after work.”

The Oasis Cannabis dispensary is sat next to a larger neighbor known as the Stratosphere hotel and casino. The hotel holds a 1,100-foot tower that has extreme thrill rides. Oasis has stated their plans to be open 24/7 as early as the coming week while some other shops in the suburbs of Las Vegas already are allowed to be open that late.

Star has stated that she thinks other dispensaries will follow suit once they see the success that Oasis has with adopting cannabis 24/7.

Star further stated that “the system is in place to protect consumers and I think that’s fantastic.” This is in regard to the current legislation in place.

One of the newer initiatives that the city is working on is whether or not to sanction smoking lounges and clubs that would allow the use of marijuana in social settings outside of private residences. Time will tell what occurs to the marijuana industry in Las Vegas.
