Hemp Seed-Eating Village in China Holds Oldest, Healthiest People in the World

While there lives a man in Bolivia that is believed to be the oldest living individual in the world, at 123 years of old, in China there is a village that is boasting life far older than the average life span throughout the world, and few people have problems from any medical issues. Scientists are under the impression that the secret is in the way they eat, which actually involves a good amount of hemp seed. However it helps that the water and air in Bama Yao, China is especially clean, and that their food is known to have less fat, animal proteins, salt, and sugar than say for example, the average American eating habits . But experts say, the villagers’ eat  superfood high in essential fatty acids is as well part of the reason they are able live so long. Their main way of digesting these fatty acids is through eating plenty hemp seeds.

The average Life expectancy in Bama Yao is know to be over 100 years for its citizens, one of only five areas in the entire world where individuals can expect to live a good healthy life for longer then the average human life expectancy. Centenarian hot locations, called ‘blue zones,’ involving Sardinia, Italy, Okinawa off the coast of Japan, and Nicoya Peninsula found in Costa Rica.  With these unique areas, there is a routine way of living and behavior: with their practice of nutritional therapy eating plant-based foods, often with various super foods, invest firm in family, get balanced exercise everyday, and have a meaning to be involved in their life.

It is well understood that plant sterols and antioxidants can be of some assistance in reducing the risk of different cancers involving breast and colon cancer, even control sugar levels in people who have diabetes. Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids found in hemp seeds are as well filled with plant-based protein, vitamins A, E, and D, and many B vitamins – all crucial antioxidants that give support to rid free radicals in the body. Hemp seed is also known to be high in calcium, dietary fiber, and iron. The generous amount of soluble fiber in hemp seed aids in the prevention of over-eating since it makes you feel much fuller, for a longer amount of time, and it can help keep the digestive system more intact.

Yet, omega 3 and 6 ratios that are in balance help play a part  for a healthy brain as we grow with age. Omega 6 polyunsaturated fats are utilized by the body to create certain hormones and signaling molecules. In layman’s terms , the omega 6′s are the precursors for many of the molecules that make up a persons  inflammatory response to explain further  – the omega 6 linoleic acid is a precursor for many molecules, including the prostaglandins that the enzymes COX-1 and COX-2 effect. However these must be maintained with Omega 3s or we have some highly inflammatory chemicals moving excessive in our body. In hemp seed oil, the scale of omega-6 to omega-3 is about 3:1. This favorable ratio aids to compensate, at least some of, the general over-digesting of omega-6 fatty acids in the average American eating habits, and will potentially lead to the overall anti-inflammatory health advances that villagers in Bama Yao enjoy.
