With so many rules and regulations to every new bill that is passed for recreational or medicinal marijuana, the possibility of delay’s sometime do occur.
In a recent news A Republicans attempt to back the movement of legalizing cannabis for limited medicinal purposes within the State Tennessee has been brought to a halt for the whole year.
With a deciding decision from the Senate Health and Welfare Committee to halt the process on the proposal from Nashville GOP Sen. Steve Dickerson which is set until 2016.
Rusty Crow the Senate committee Chairman Felt that there was not a sufficient amount of time to fully go ever the negatives and positives of the bill.
Chairman Rusty Cow states he would create a summer study team to look at the bill.
However Mr. Dickerson didn’t seem pleased at all that the bill has been brought to a halt.
Mr. Dickerson has recently stated to the Tennessean that this bill might need to be slightly amended, yet he wanted to move forward with pushing the bill for 2015.
“I believe this is a conservative bill; it’s equally based in compassion and science,” Dickerson, an anesthesiologist, said to the committee.
“Let us not criminalize the sickest among us, but rather I would encourage you to join me in allowing them to have access to this medication.”
If the bill eventually gets passed, Dickerson states he has put together a bill that allow a system for individuals the freedom to grow, distribute, process, and regulate cannabis in the state of Tennessee.
