By now the news is out about how Colorado will repeal sale taxes on cannabis for a single day that will begin and end on September 16 because of a quirk in the sate’s constitution.
Major marijuana sales are currently in the pipeline, various stores confirmed this week to The Cannabist, and customers will soon be bathing through the promotions and discounts similar to Black Friday back in 2014.
“Just hearing about it, my mind’s going — I gotta do a 4/20-type promotion for that day,” stated Brian Ruden, Owner of the Colorado rooted Starbuds marijuana shops.
“Any chance to drive business and expose new people to the Starbuds brand is a phenomenal opportunity for us, and it’s great for the consumers as well because it allows them to take advantage of the savings on a particular day.”
With the marijuana tax holiday more than 3 months away, Ruden stated it was too early to release details on any specials his shop may be having. However there will be deals, he gave his word, and his promotions will not be the only ones.
“I think that we’ll offer some type of promotion,” stated Ean Seeb, co-owner of the Denver Relief marijuana shop in Baker. “It’s a little down the road, but knowing the creative personnel we have on staff, I have no doubt we’ll come up with something unique for our Denver patients and customers.”
