The amount of marijuana sales after recreational marijuana was legalized in Oregon skyrocketed in a short period of time. There are even lines reaching out of the door! Some dispensaries have begun giving out numbers to try to meet with everyone. Christina Zusman owns Canna Daddy;s dispensary in Oregon and has recently begun selling recreational marijuana. Here is what she said in a recent interview: “Our average now is between 700 and 1000 customers a day when we used to see a couple hundred each day. Sales are good.”

Even so, with these great numbers, as we’ve seen so many times before in the marijuana industry, there are many limitations no what can be sold. The only way that there would be more of a variety of cannabis products dispensaries sell would be if the Oregon recreational marijuana industry “blossoms.” Let’s take a look at one of them called medibles.

Medibles are only able to be sold to those in Oregon with medical marijuana cards. They are baked good infused with marijuana, containing high amounts of THC. There are other edibles with marijuana in them that anyone 21 and over may purchase, but the contain relatively low sounds of THC. Many of the customers excited for marijuana to be legalized were disappointed upon hearing that medibles were only on sale to those with medical cards. Zusman thinks that this may not be the case in the future, though.

“The legislature is going to vote on it. A lot of customers came in hoping that medibles would be a part of buying recreational marijuana,” Zusman said. “If we could serve those, that would be even better. I think it would increase business. But from the state’s point of view, a lot of people don’t know their limits or how much to consume.”
