Hemp, Inc. CEO Receives the 1st Annual Jack Herer Cannabis Hemp Award

LAS VEGAS, NV–(Marketwired – Dec 9, 2015) – Bruce Perlowin, CEO of Hemp, Inc. (OTC PINK: HEMP) and a leader in the industrial hemp industry, was honored with the Jack Herer Cannabis Hemp Award in recognition of Hemp, Inc.’s “Major Achievement in the Hemp Industry”. Producer and Co-Creator of the Jack Herer Cannabis Awards, Michael Whalen, recognized Perlowin and Hemp, Inc. as having a major impact within the industrial hemp industry with the only commercial industrial hemp decortication facility in the United States. Perlowin was also applauded on shifting the company’s focus towards more advanced processing in the milling line.

“We were honored to recognize Bruce Perlowin and Hemp, Inc. at the 1st Annual Jack Herer Cannabis Awards on November 28, 2015,” said Michael Whalen. “Since this is our first year bringing recognition to some of the leaders and innovators in the cannabis and hemp industries, we kept our awards small… focusing on about 7 recipients who we felt really made a difference and who are continuing to pave the way for others as this multi-billion dollar industry unfolds after being suppressed for decades.”

“We are very proud to have been nominated and to receive this award. On behalf of Hemp, Inc., I would like to thank everyone for every ounce of energy they have put into Jack Herer’s legacy and the continual push of legalizing hemp throughout the United States,” said Bruce Perlowin, CEO of Hemp, Inc. and award recipient. “It can be difficult to start a company that succeeds in an industry where it is only ‘somewhat legal’. However, with the help of thousands of people advocating and supporting the hemp industry we are succeeding.”

While Hemp, Inc. will continue to market its hemp-based cosmeceutical and nutraceutical product lines, the legalization of industrial hemp in North Carolina has been a game changer for the company. The direction of the company has shifted towards more advanced processing in the milling line. “In terms of generating profit for the company, our multipurpose industrial hemp processing facility in Spring Hope, North Carolina will undoubtedly outweigh any sales revenue generated from our product line. This is why we have been full speed ahead with our decortication line which is expected to be fully operational by the second quarter of 2016. It is the only commercial facility in America at this time that will be able to process raw hemp,” said Perlowin.

Perlowin has been on-site to oversee the facility in North Carolina for the past week. “I’m amazed at the progress. We have electricians scurrying about the facility. Miles and miles of electrical work are part of the foundation of the plant.”

Beyond being able to process raw hemp, the company is also producing a much needed resource utilized in the oil and drilling industries. It is called lost circulation material, also known as LCM, which according to many sources have been hard to source from oversees. Hemp, Inc., is the solution. A local source of better quality LCMs and the means to produce a steady, consistent supply. So it comes as no surprise that Bruce Perlowin was awarded the prestigious award for notable achievements in the industrial hemp industry.

The awards ceremony was held to not only benefit and bring awareness to the hemp industry, but awareness to the industry in Las Vegas, Nevada where Jeannie Herer plans to build a museum made out of hempcrete to honor her late husband who spent years as a pro-cannabis and hemp activist. Their goal is to have the first hempcrete building built in the state of Nevada.

“He believed that the cannabis plant should be decriminalized and argued that it could be used as a renewable source of fuel, medicine, food, fiber and paper/pulp and that it can be grown in virtually any part of the world for medicinal as well as economical purposes. He further asserted that the U.S. government has been deliberately hiding the proof of this from their own citizens.” (Source: Wikipedia.org)

UPDATE ON HEMP, INC.’S DECORTICATION LINE

Hemp, Inc. continues to update its shareholders every step of the way. According to its most recent video update (published December 8, 2015), the multipurpose industrial hemp processing plant in North Carolina, nestled on 9 acres, is nearing completion. The frame for the industrial hemp testing lab has been built. The transformer is complete. The disconnect switch is in place. Electricians are finalizing miles of electrical work.

Outside the facility, the kenaf field will soon be cut and later brought inside for baling. According to David Schmitt, IHM’s COO, the first frost kills the kenaf, then it sits in the field to defoliate. When the moisture content drops below 12%, it’s ready to be baled. The portable decortication machine is also in the facility awaiting wheel replacement and a new German-made engine for optimal efficiency.

Not only is it expected to produce millions of dollars in revenue a year from processing kenaf and, later, hemp, it’s aligned with Hemp, Inc.’s commitment to the American farmers and to spearheading a new clean, green American Agricultural and Industrial Revolution.
