In the world of the medical marijuana it has been known to be an onward battle when dealing with laws in reference to rules and regulations. However one woman views it a bit different. Iowa House Majority Leader Linda Upmeyer, Who has dedicated years to her profession as a cardiology nurse practitioner, makes a suggestive point. If any decision to legalize medical marijuana the FDA should do it if it is truly a medicine not federal lawmakers. “If this a legitimate medication, it really means the FDA needs to weigh in on this issue. That is what we with other medications. I think that makes sense.” Upmeyer stated to the reporters at the Iowa Capitol. Upmeyer who is a Clear Lake Republican was along side House Speaker Kraig Paulsen, who was very straightforward when he said he believes medicinal marijuana is no longer, an issue in the House. ” I don’t expect us to debate a billon medical cannabis this year,” stated Paulsen, who is a Hiawatha republican. The Iowa senate will soon be ready to discuss a bill legalizing medicinal cannabis for different disease that consist of; multiple sclerosis, cancer, Crohn’s disease, post traumatic stress disorder as well various other illnesses. So far the FDA has not approved cannabis as a trust worthy and effective medicine.
