Cannabis Convention Held in Florida

This week, in Central Florida, there was a ton of attention surrounding the legal cannabis industry. There were over three thousand people from places all around the country as well as seven other countries there this week. They decided to trade information about the best methods for growing marijuana, including what lights to use, what soils are best and safest. Another focus was how to hide money and products; this all occurred at the cannabis industry’s trade show. It is no coincidence that they chose Florida either.

“We’re here in Florida, because, at all of our national events that we’ve hosted, we’ve had very strong attendance out of Florida. We are confident that when, and it’s not going to be an if when Florida legalizes marijuana on a medical, or a recreational level, the Florida market is going to be absolutely huge,” Marijuana Business Daily, which organized the convention, CEO Cassandra Farrington, said.

Now, for the second time since 2014, voters of Florida will be given the opportunity to legalize medical cannabis for various conditions. When a similar measure was first presented in 2014, votes came very close but did not reach the sixty percent needed in order to pass the constitutional amendment.

“(Florida) is going to be a bellwether state, not only in the Southeast but across the country, for marijuana legalization,” Farrington added. “As such, the business opportunities here are accordingly very, very large.”

Florida is probably going to be home to the second largest population of cannabis consumers if the bill is passed. The upcoming industry was able to convince a ton of those who attended the convention; many consider opening up shops in Florida is the measure passes. As for the others, they were given the opportunity to network, find the newest equipment and merchandise of what is supposed to be an annual $4 billion industry.
