What Are the Best Alternatives to Smoking Pot?

Marijuana flower has been the favorite among cannabis consumers for quite some time, but advances in technology have helped to produce some of the newest, and best ways to get high. These advances have led to the creation of precisely manufactured edibles, vape pens and more. With a whole new world opening up as an alternative to smoking just flower, it seems like the cannabis world is continuing to grow at a rapid pace.

Edibles are no new product to the marijuana market, and have in fact been around for quite some time. After making the initial butter, which needs to be used due to the fact that THC, the psychoactive component of marijuana, is only fat soluble, you can make a whole variety of cannabis-infused food. According to one research report, sales of cannabis infused food has risen by over 121% in the past year alone. Since the industry is growing at such a rapid pace, the likelihood of seeing more marijuana products seems to be high.

One of the biggest issues and advancements in the industry has been that of consistency. Consistency is something that remains very important if the market would ever like to be taken out of the non-professional setting. For medical patients, having a consistent dose is very important. This has been one of the newest advancements in the industry as far as tech goes. According to one report “edibles represent the best psychoactive bargain at the dispensary, because when you eat cannabis—instead of smoking it—a chemical process in the liver transforms the THC found in the plant into a much more powerful and longer-lasting molecule.” Using edibles to get high is simply the most effective way to use the plant given that baking does not destroy the THC the same way that fire does. This results in the aforementioned, higher consistency and more powerful high.

With edibles being around since the beginning of cannabis, some of the newer ones seem to be taking over the market. One of the most interesting edibles to date seems to be that of cannabis-infused coffee. Often, marijuana can make the user tired depending on the strain, so being able to combine coffee into the edible ensures that the user has the best of both worlds. A combination of coffee, weed, nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon and series of other herbs, ensures that those who drink this strong drink will have quite a pleasant time.

Another one of the newest inventions for the cannabis industry has continued to be that of vaping the substance. Just like cooking cannabis, vaping is one way that users can ensure they are getting the most THC out of their weed. Vaping ignites cannabis at a lower temperature than burning it would which leads to a larger amount of the active THC getting into the bloodstream, thus a more clean way to use weed. Vape pens also have a very consistent hit, which is one of the main reasons that many medicinal patients prefer to use this method as opposed to more traditional forms of smoking weed. The cannabis can be made into vape oil into many different ways, but one of the most popular is simply soaking the cannabis in a THC-soluble substance. The advances with vaping cannabis have helped to bring this method into the light and it does not seem like it is going anywhere anytime soon. The hopes are that these new advances in the marijuana industry will help to continue its growth as we move into a future, filled with legislation across the country. Only time will tell how well these alternative cannabis consumption methods will be adopted by the mainstream public.
