The Green Organic Dutchman Holdings Ltd. (TGOD.TO) (TGODF) has been executing on all cylinders and the market has taken notice.
Over the last month, TGOD has shown why the company was worth the wait and we are excited by the recent developments. When it comes to cannabis companies, it all starts with the management team and TGOD is laser focused on assembling a world class team.
TGOD Significantly Expands and Enhances Executive Team
In early May, TGOD announced the hiring of several key executives including it’s CFO, General Counsel, VP of Sales, VP of Marketing, VP of Operations, and Regional Sales Manager for Ontario and Western Canada. After the recent announcements, the recent additions make a lot of sense.
Earlier this year, TGOD announced that Csaba Reider was appointed as President of TGOD. Reider has 35+ years executive experience in the consumer-packaged goods industry including VP at Cott Corporation and President & CEO of XYIENCE Inc. Reider brings decades of valuable experience and strategic relationships to TGOD that played a key role in the hiring of the following executives.
Mike Gibbons joined TGOD as VP of Sales and has 25+ years of consumer-packaged goods experience in beverages and food and spent 15+ years with Cott Corporation in roles of increasing responsibility, from Sr. Vice President of Sales to President of the US business unit. He has experience in both branded and private label businesses, and led high-performing teams in geographic expansion, in building distribution and in new product introductions.
Andrew Pollock joined as VP of Marketing and has 25+ years’ experience in consumer-packaged goods, retail and subscription businesses. He has worked extensively in the organic food industry and was most recently at Weight Watchers Canada, Ltd., where he helped to drive double-digit growth in a subscription service by adopting state of the art digital, social and SEO strategies. Pollock also led Marketing at Maple Leaf Foods Inc., at Canada Bread Company, at Limited and at Cott Corporation.
John Wren joined TGOD as VP Operations and came from Cott Corporation where he spent 22 years, most recently as VP Operations, where he was responsible for the operation of seven beverage facilities across North America. Wren is a well-rounded management professional possessing a track record of delivering results, specifically increasing plant efficiencies and managing operational costs. He is a diversified leader mentoring professionals in manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, quality control and continuous improvements as well as sales, account management, product development and marketing.
Andy Corcoran joins as Regional Sales Manager for Ontario and Western Canada. Most recently, he was with Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits, LLC where he helped establish the company’s Canadian business. Corcoran brings to TGOD a deep knowledge of the Canadian sales market and experience working with government liquor boards. Corcoran will work with TGOD’s executive team to drive topline performance for TGOD’s strategic vendor partners by implementing category management and trade development principles in the market. He will manage the company’s provincial board and key sales account relationships.
TGOD Announces a Significant Agreement
Last week, TGOD entered into an exclusive agreement with Stillwater Brands to license RIPPLE SC (Soluble Cannabinoids) ingredient technology, and other proprietary beverage and food technologies and formulations related to cannabinoid-infused consumer packaged goods including micro-dose and full-dose tea sticks within Canada and in a number of international jurisdictions outside of the USA.
TGOD intends to offer Ripple Dissolvable and other Stillwater Brands products and formulations in international markets outside of the USA where regulations allow, as well as in the Canadian market once permitted by the Canadian regulatory regime. TGOD also intends to aggressively work on other novel formulations in the beverage, functional foods and dietary supplements areas which will contemplate using RIPPLE SC as the base water-soluble cannabinoid input.
RIPPLE SC is a proprietary, patent-pending suite of low-calorie, fast-acting, water-soluble ingredient products that allows consumers or commercial manufacturers to simply and easily infuse cannabinoids into beverage and food products. RIPPLE SC is formulated to absorb into the bloodstream within fifteen minutes and last for up to four hours. RIPPLE SC has already proven its value in Colorado, where its consumer variant (marketed as Ripple Dissolvable) is among the fastest-growing products in the edibles category. RIPPLE SC technology also powers other high-end consumer brands such as Stillwater Tea and Whitewater Tea.
With the recent additions to the management team, this agreement makes a lot of sense and we see a lot of value that can be created through it. This is a significant development and one that requires watching. TGOD is focused on building a leading brand for the global cannabis industry and this is a step in the right direction.
An Execution Story
In early May, TGOD announced a major milestone after its facility in Ancaster, Ontario received organic certification from Ecocert Canada, an internationally recognized world-leading organization in organic certification.
In late May, TGOD entered into an exclusive agreement with CBx Enterprises LLC for the licensing of the Evolab and CBx Sciences brands and proprietary technologies and formulations within Canada and other international jurisdictions outside of the USA. The licensing arrangement will immediately expand TGOD’s product and technology portfolio and position the company for the successful development of new products as Canadian and global product requirements and standards rapidly evolve.
Evolab is a top cannabinoid vaporization brand that has gained significant market share through the creation of highly differentiated products in a very competitive and saturated market. CBx Sciences has an industry-leading team working tirelessly on the research and development of both new and novel cannabinoids as well as authentic premium quality consumer products.
TGOD continues to execute and we are favorable on the recent partnerships and exclusive agreements, on the additions to the executive team, and on the organic certification. The Canadian organic medical marijuana producer continues to execute, and this is a story we are watching.
