NTRR Readies New Alternatives as Washington Pushes for Pesticide Transparency in Cannabis Industry
Neutra Corp. (NTRR) continues to market agricultural alternatives to pesticides in the cannabis industry as concerns over harsh chemical residues intensify. Last week, the state of Washington announced new rules for pesticide testing in the state’s cannabis industry that aim to assure consumers that their products do not contain residue of unapproved pesticides.
The Seattle Times reports that, under the rules, Washington’s growers and processors will be able to stamp their products with an “enhanced seal of approval” from the state if they comply with new standards for pesticide screening and other factors, including safe handling, employee training and more. The program is designed to put some of consumers’ growing fears over potential contamination to rest.
While transparency in labeling is a major step forward, NTRR and its partners are empowering cannabis cultivators to go a step further. The company is dedicated to providing new cannabis growing technologies that don’t require the use of any harsh chemicals.
“It’s not difficult to understand that consumers do not want products that might be covered with potentially harmful chemicals,” said NTRR CEO Chris Brown. “We are offering a better way to grow indoors, and the response from cannabis producers has been highly enthusiastic.”
Alongside its joint venture partner, Surface to Air Solutions (S2O2), NTRR is offering cannabis growers and other businesses new technologies designed to reduce or eliminate the industry’s reliance upon pesticides to produce healthy crops. The joint venture has a suite of horticultural products including a plant stimulant, an air-scrubber and self-cleaning hard surface treatment that has been carefully engineered to keep plants and surfaces clean and preventing the buildup of mold, powdery mildew, botrytis, and mites – allowing for healthy plants without the use of pesticides and fungicides.
