NTRR to Provide Options to Oregon Growers in Wake of Potential Pesticide Ban
As cannabis regulators in Oregon and elsewhere crack down on the use of pesticides, Neutra Corp. (NTRR) is working with its joint venture partner Surface to Air Solutions (S2O2) to deliver new alternatives for common horticultural problems.
The Oregonian reported last week that the state’s department of agriculture is warning cannabis cultivators not to use illegal pesticides while it works to produce a list of approved chemicals for use in the industry. The federal government typically determines what context a chemical may be used in agriculture and how much may be used, but has not yet approved any pesticides for cannabis cultivation – leaving the issue to the states.
Alongside S2O2, NTRR is marketing indoor growing solutions that are designed to help eliminate the use of harsh chemicals in cannabis cultivation altogether. The joint venture has a suite of horticultural products including a plant stimulant, an air-scrubber and self-cleaning hard surface treatment that has been carefully engineered to keep plants and surfaces clean and preventing the build up of mold, powdery mildew, botrytis, and mites – allowing for healthy plants without the use of pesticides and fungicides. A successful case study on the products’ utility was just completed with a major grower in Colorado.
“Oregon will not be the last state to produce new regulations on the chemicals used to grow healthy cannabis plants,” said NTRR CEO Chris Brown. “We have engineered products that can achieve similar results with much less risk to cannabis patients.”
