While the sunshine state continues to pussyfoot around without eh implementation of a CBD only law, the stage is being prepared to legalize a full-scale medical marijuana program in 2016. United For Care, who created a proposal to legalize a part of plant for medical use failed by a narrow margin in this past year’s November election, is now prepping toast off the second coming of the initiative with aspirations of bringing medicinal herb to Florida once and for all.
However the campaign hasn’t been formally stated yet, several reports have indicated that Orlando attorney John Morgan and his band of activist, collectively addressed as United fro Care, will start grinding the pavement late this month to obtain the signatures needed to earn a place on the ballot in the next presidential election.
The largest challenge, thus far is that the group has not been able to raise the funds needed to provide a system to run a successful campaign ballot initiatives need millions of dollars to bring the effort to fruition. An article in the Orlando Sentinel implies that the group has only raised close to $50,000 for 2016.
Yet, the organization is still documented as sitting on a portion of its financial arsenal from 2014. The next process is building up the momentum for the cause gaining the proper signatures, while putting the initiative in a place to gain the additional 2% of the voters that it was unable to lock down last year.
The sunshine state has a law that controls the voters initiatives which will need 60% approval in order to become law. This past year’s Amendment 2 locked down only 58%
