“We call this place the ‘Holy Land,’ for the special meaning it represents for us,” stated Pablo Meléndez, one of the cultivators of Chile’s first government-sponsored medical marijuana crop.
Mr. Melédez stood alongside a roomful of 395 freshly cropped marijuana harvest at a facility in La Florida, a location in Chile’s first government-supported medical marijuana grow.
The marijuana, that was planted this past October, is destined produce 10 liters of oil to be sent off to more than 100 patients. The group collected close to 200 pounds of indica marijuana buds of Durga Mata II, Wappa, Ice Cream, Pandora strains and Nubela.

To make the harvest a reality, a team of people called the day Foundation secured a rarely issued government permit to cultivate cannabis for medical reasons. Days prior to the official presentation of the cropped out product.
The compound where the harvest took place is in the middle of a residential middle-class area, an unmarked property surrounded by security equipment and an electrified perimeter.
“We’ve had luck because no one has tried to rob us,” Meléndez stated, as he led us through the fragrant plants.

  1. It is always a progressive day in the marijuana culture when places outside the U.S. vote and establish grounds for the use if legal marijuana pretty much solidifying the fact the fight to legalize marijuana is a global battle.

  2. It’s great to see the rest of the world taking notice of the benefits of medical marijuana. From a financial and economic standpoint cannabis is going to generate a ton of money and not to mention it will create job opportunities. Lastly, for the most important reason of them all from a medical standpoint. Marijuana has been proven to work medicinally and help people with diseases and illnesses.
