NTRR and S2O2 Deliver New Weapons Against Mold in Colorado’s Billion-Dollar Cannabis Industry
As the state government agencies work to eliminate the threat of mold contamination in Colorado’s booming cannabis industry, Neutra Corp. (NTRR) and its joint venture partner, Surface to Air Solutions, Inc. (S2O2), stand ready with a possible solution to the problem.
Denver news network affiliate CBS4 reported late last month that police had to seek treatment after responding to burglary calls at indoor cannabis grows this year during two separate incidents. Four officers were exposed to mold and three others were exposed to a sulfur burner used to eliminate mold. Mold can lead to respiratory infection, making moldy cannabis a significant health risk not only for cannabis patients, but for cannabusiness employees and even law enforcement.
NTRR and S2O2 are currently testing what they believe to be an ideal fix to the problem of mold, without the use of harsh chemicals or cleansers. A suite of horticultural products being marketed by the joint venture has been carefully engineered to keep plants, surfaces and air inside growing facilities free from mold, microbes, fungus and other adulterants without resorting to potentially harmful pesticides.
S2O2 recently signed a letter of intent to test the joint venture’s antimicrobial surface treatment, nutritional plant tonic and air-scrubbing hydroxyl generator at facilities run by two of Colorado’s most respected cannabis organizations. NTRR formed its joint venture with S2O2 last year to market these and other novel solutions to growers that are concerned about contamination of their crops by mold and other pests.
By verifying these products’ use in eliminating contaminants from cannabis, the joint venture plans to take the first step toward making them industry-standard across the entire regulated sector.
