American Cannabis Company, Inc. Announces Hemp Business Development & Appointment of Chief Operations Officer
American Cannabis Company, Inc. (AMMJ) (“ACC”), a full-service business-to-business consulting solutions provider, and seller of ancillary products to the cannabis industry, wishes to announce that it is now offering a full suite of services tailored specifically to the industrial hemp sector. The company will offer a myriad of services, including business plan creation, greenhouse and farm design, license acquisition, seed sales, hemp processing, operational deployment, and crop improvement. Furthermore, the Company is looking to partner with accredited universities nationwide to further the advancement of hemp related research. With the passage of the 2018 Farm Bill, all states now have the opportunity to develop and implement plans, in conjunction with the USDA, to license and regulate hemp production, and the Company seeks to position itself to lead in the forefront of these emerging markets.
Jon Workman, Vice President of Hemp Business Development, is excited to take on a new role in launching this expansive hemp program. Mr. Workman comes from four generations of farming in Southern Arkansas. Having been raised on his family’s large-scale farm, and being engaged with commercial operations for years, Mr. Workman has been exposed to all aspects of big agriculture. He then worked in the financial services industry for nearly 20 years as a fixed-income trading manager for a large regional broker dealer in Southern California. In 2013, Mr. Workman returned to Arkansas to manage a 9,000+ acre row crop farm and beef cattle ranch operation. Mr. Workman has a deep understanding of commercial-scale modern agriculture, utilizing technology and crop improvement to optimize yields and cultivar development. Formerly a Strategic Business Consultant with the Company, Mr. Workman has the knowledge and experience that is necessary to maintain a successful industrial hemp consulting division. Mr. Workman stated: “My unique skillset combination will help me provide farmers the information they need in effort to make good forward-thinking agronomic decisions about their entry into the hemp market.”
Terry Buffalo, the Company’s Principal Executive Officer, commented: “With the passing of the 2018 Farm Bill, ACC can now unveil and launch its comprehensive hemp program. Jon has proven time and time again to be a tremendous asset to the Company, and with his background in large-scale commercial agriculture, I am certain that he will be able to successfully manage this soon to be robust sector of our business. With the hemp market taking off, I believe that our hemp consulting and deployment services may quickly become a major revenue driver for ACC. In expanding our model to include large scale hemp cultivation, we are strategically positioning ourselves to be an established brand in the commercial agriculture industry.”
The Company is also pleased to announce the appointment of Tyler Schloesser as its new Chief Operations Officer. Mr. Schloesser will be responsible for the management of day-to-day business development and general operations. Mr. Schloesser is a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder, receiving a double major degree in Psychology and Philosophy. After graduation, he worked in the banking industry with Wells Fargo Bank, US Bank and Credit Union of Colorado attaining a background in client relations, compliance and management. With his diverse experience in the banking industry coupled with four years of experience as Operations Manager for the Company, Mr. Schloesser possesses a critical eye for detail and organization along with the ability to manage complex processes.
Ecstatic to take on a more sizeable role within the Company, Mr. Schloesser commented, “I am truly grateful and honored to be given the opportunity to take on this position. American Cannabis Company has come a long way since I first walked through the doors four years ago, and I am looking forward to seeing where our evolving business model takes us. The Company will continue to expand its reach by taking on equity positions in client projects, licensing the American Cannabis Company brand, as well as seeking strategic acquisition opportunities throughout North America and around the world. In addition to assisting with business development and taking on new responsibilities, I will continue to develop and maintain policies, procedures, processes, and risk mitigation best practices as well as manage the day-to-day operational activities that are associated with keeping the engine of a public company running.”
Terry Buffalo, the Company’s Principal Executive Officer, commented: “I am overjoyed to have Tyler as a part of our team. He has shown that he is qualified to fill the position of Chief Operations Officer and I look forward to working closer with him as our business continues to grow and expand. The Company has made some major pivots over the last several months in effort to refine the overall business model, and I am confident that the Company will continue to expand its footprint in a very positive way. Having a calculated and logical approach to whatever comes his way, Tyler will make a great addition to the executive management team here at ACC.”
